A woman who made false claims she had been raped and sex trafficked by multiple men has been jailed for eight and a half years.
Williams created false social media accounts, doctored innocent men’s profiles and even attacked herself with a hammer before posting her injuries on social media.Her lies resulted in one man, Jordan Trengove, spending eight weeks in prison after Williams claimed he had raped her and threatened her with a knife after they met in a nightclub in 2018.
A Preston man, Oliver Gardner, was accused of raping Williams and selling her as a sex worker after a chance encounter at Preston station, and a Barrow man, Cameron Bibby, was accused of raping Williams when she was 16 after a house party in the town.In May 2020, Williams was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice after a police investigation found no evidence of grooming in the Cumbrian town.
