The Dundee Township Park District will be holding a Family Fishing Day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 26, at Aldis Park, located at the east end of Maiden Lane along the Fox River in West Dundee.

Participants can bring their own fishing gear or use the equipment provided by the park district. Each child taking part will receive a small tackle box filled with bobbers, lures and other items.Registration is $5 per family for a 30-minute fishing time and must be completed by noon Friday, Aug. 25. Fishing licenses are required for anyone 16 or older.The Elgin Public Museum‘s new “Endangered Illinois” exhibit will open to the public Saturday, Aug. 26.

The exhibit features a mural painted by local artist, Heather Dorsch, as well as drawings of and information about endangered species native to Illinois provided by area grade school students and their caregivers, according to museum staff. The museum, located at 225 Grand Blvd. in Lords Park, is open from noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
