An elderly woman had £200 stolen after leaving her bank card in a cash machine in Nottinghamshire. Police said the 78-year-old was made to feel uneasy by a man as he waited to use the machine in Southchurch Drive, Clifton shortly before 7am on July 8.
She stepped away from the machine, telling the man she would use it after him, but forgot her bank card was still active inside the device. He then used her bank card and withdrew £200 before walking away with her money and card. Nottinghamshire Police have now issued a CCTV image of a man they’d like to speak to who they believe could help them with their ongoing investigation. PC Sophie Elsom, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a very cruel and unpleasant offence which left the victim feeling very distressed.
"As part of our inquiries, I am urging the man pictured, or anyone who recognises him, to please get in touch with us."
