“I will never forgive myself'
A man was left fearing for his home when a loan firm demanded payments for money fraudulently borrowed from him.
The 59-year-old, who works in the construction industry, knew his ex Rachel McLaughlin had been mismanaging her own finances. What he didn't know was that she had forged his signature to secure loans against his Loveclough home. Undeterred, McLaughlin had forged his signature to take out a £5,000 Black Horse loan and a £15,000 loan from Paragon.
His nephew, Gareth Hawden, said: "He has been living in the house for eight years since all this happened, then all of a sudden he gets these letters saying it has been passed on to their legal department. The letters are addressed to him and make it look like he owes money.
