Suella Braverman has lost her job in a cabinet reshuffle after a series of controversies Once a self-proclaimed ‘shy Tory’, Suella Braverman’s controversial tenure as Home Secretary has seen her compared to Cruella De Vil and branded ‘minister for hate’.
Mrs Braverman, whose parents came to the UK from Kenya and Mauritius in the 1960s, said: ‘The wind of change that carried my own parents across the globe in the 20th century was a mere gust compared to the hurricane that is coming.’ Her speech prompted Business Secretary Kemi Badenoch to urge caution over the language used by politicians to discuss immigration.
