The app will allow staff to assess the risk of youth who do not check in to the home as scheduled.

The Saskatchewan government provided $50,000 toward the development of the app by local developer Push Interactions.“We’re here to provide service for these kids… And part of serving anybody is listening to these kids. So for me, it’s the first step in the right direction,” Meikle told the StarPhoenix.

“I also know how how much it affects a youth’s trust with staff and builds those barriers of not wanting to be honest or communicate,” she said. The youth will continue to monitor the app and review it, McCallum-Morin said.Article content Chad Jones, CEO Push Interactions, shows the demo version of the new Missing Youth Saskatchewan app that the EGADZ anticipates will reduce the number of youth reported as missing from care to police.
