Nina Wadia has reflected on her time on EastEnders Former EastEnders star Nina Wadia has reflected on her decision to leave the show a decade on. The actress won over a legion of fans as no-nonsense matriarch Zainab Masood, who she played for five years. Zainab’s final scenes aired in 2013 after Nina made the decision to leave the show. The soap star said that, though she was ‘devastated’ to say goodbye to the Square, she felt like there was part of her that ‘needed’ to go.
