Waterfront city takes step to upgrade public boat launch and park
Pittsburg is moving forward with a plan to upgrade its public boat launch and nearby Central Harbor Park — provided it gets grant money.
In February 2021, the city was awarded $172,155 for planning the revitalization of the waterfront Central Park Harbor Park and boat launch facilities upgrade project. “The city shares in this mission and encourages public access to its waterfront,” Romero told the council March 21. Residents complained about the lack of youth/family and fishing amenities, difficulty navigating through the parking lot and an inadequate boat launch approach, she said. They worked with consultants to develop a design for the area.
