The DWP is set to issue an increase for all components of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) from April
People who claim Personal Independence Payments are set for a boost in their finances. It comes as the DWP is set to issue an increase for all components of the benefit next month.
The payment is made to those who have either a health condition or disability that affects their day-to-day life. It is paid weekly, meaning some people could get as much as £184.30 a week when the new rates kick in from April. This would add up to just shy of £800 a month or £9,582.60 a year. According to the DWP, PIP is not just based on someone's health condition and entitlement will vary depending on how much your daily life or ability is affected.
A health professional will assess any claimants who sends in an application to determine the level of help they require. The rate is also regularly reviewed in order to ensure the claimants continues to receive the correct amount of support.
