Millions of UK motorists can 'make their lives easier', DVLA said
DVLA is the Government department that issues driving licences and, essentially keeps tabs on all motorists. Every registered owner in the UK has a responsibility to make sure their vehicle tax is up to date, apart from those which are exempt.
Motorists who do not tax their vehicle can be hit with huge fines, taken to court, and can even have their vehicles clamped or impounded. DVLA says less than 2% of vehicles are correctly taxed.READ MORE: DWP propose changes for people on PIP, Universal Credit, legacy benefits or long-term sick In a new notice on Tuesday, DVLA has urged drivers to spend "five minutes" to "make life a little easier". The post on X, formerly Twitter, reads: "Do you know when your vehicle tax is due? With a driver and vehicles account, you can choose to receive vehicle tax reminders by text or email!
