Referee Don Robertson made the decision to call of the Premiership showdown at Dens Park.
Michael Stewart landed a spiky response to his "hypothetical" that Dundee and Rangers could have done more to prevent their Premiership clash being called off.
And speaking after the decision was made to postpone the game, referee Don Robertson revealed that they were "guided by the home club" and that "areas of concern" were noted early in the morning with both the SPFL and the Scottish FA contacted. After an initial pitch inspection at 9.15am, Robertson stated that the clubs and the SPFL decided that they would wait until 10.
He quizzed: "What would happen there in Michael's hypothetical world if one club said they want the game to go ahead? Tony Docherty has said he doesn't know enough about it and respects the decision of those who know what they're talking about. That sparked a prickly reaction from Stewart who hit back: "Well it's quite obvious, isn't it? The game wouldn't go ahead."
