The westbound tunnels will open at a later date, sometime in May. The two separate 25-feet tall by 54-feet wide tunnels are covered by the Land Bridge, which will connect Memorial Park’s north and south sections for visitors and wildlife.

The tunnels, which have overhead lighting, are for vehicle traffic only. The speed limit will be 35 miles per hour through the tunnels, with no stopping allowed. A commuter trail south of the tunnels will open for bike traffic, but until that opens bikes have been rerouted to a new permanent trail on the south side of the Land Bridge and prairie project.
