The crash occurred Feb. 26 in Carneys Point and a vehicular homicide charge was filed Thursday.
on North Golfwood Avenue in Carneys Point, according to police.
Quintin Weigle, 19, of Carneys Point, was killed and the other driver, Vaughn M. Chase, 30, of Pedricktown, was airlifted to a hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, township police reported. At the crash scene, Chase allegedly told EMTs he had been drinking and said, “I drank a lot of beers,” according to details police included in an affidavit of probable cause filed in support of the charges.
His blood alcohol content was measured at between 0.276% and 0.313%, police stated in the affidavit. The legal limit is 0.08%. Following an investigation, police charged Chase on Thursday with second-degree vehicular homicide.
