The sheriff's office said just before 11:35 p.m., a 2017 Toyota Rav4 left the roadway and traveled into the gore between I-270 and the exit ramp from I-670 East to I-270 South. The Toyota continued through the gore and struck the bridge pillars before coming to a rest against the last pillar. Deputies and medics responded to the scene and found the driver unresponsive, who was pronounced dead at 12:05 a.m.The ramp was closed for several hours while crews were working on the investigation. As of 5 a.m., all but one lane on the ramp has reopened. says one driver died after driving into that middle median area where the road forks. The sheriff's office says this happened just after 11:30 pm last night.: The ramp has opened up but one lane is still closed.
