Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero was the latest Dragon Ball story in the series canon, and now there's confirmation of its place in the timeline by series creator Akira Toriyama.
Thanks to new comments from Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama, there’s now official confirmation of when Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero takes place in the series’ timeline. While Dragon Ball Super is supposed to take place before the original ending of Dragon Ball, there’s always been some ambiguity about when the stories are supposed to take place.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Fortunately, new comments from Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama go a long way to shed light on the current timeline. According to Toriyama, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is supposed to take place right before the original ending of Dragon Ball , which means that there’s now official confirmation of both the movie’s timeline and Dragon Ball Super’s timeline, as a whole.
What Can Dragon Ball Do After It Reaches Its Original Ending? There’s little reason to believe that Dragon Ball will be done once it returns to its original ending, so that invites the question of what the franchise will do once it returns to that point. One easy route would be a story exploring Goku training Uub, which could also work to make up for the concept going largely unexplored in Dragon Ball GT.
That being said, the best thing for Dragon Ball would probably be to retcon the original ending. With the franchise not ending anytime soon, it's needing to work with a defined ending can be restricting, but ignoring that would make it easier for it to tell more stories.
