Rising to international acclaim for making Korean classics, director Kim Jee-woon plunges into his first television series with 'Dr. Brain.' This first Korean original from Apple TV+ stars Lee Sun-kyun (of 'Parasite' fame) as a neuroscientist searching for answers to his personal family tragedies.
TV+’s first Korean original series, signalling its ambitions to capture more audience in the Korean streaming market and also ride the popularity of Korean content abroad.more than three years ago, but was committed to working on another project first. “It was percolating in my mind,” says Kim, on finally bringingto fruition. “We only began shooting in February this year, but the shooting itself didn't take that long since I had been thinking about this idea for a long time.
“I wanted to make sure that each episode told a complete story in itself, while hooking the audience to watch the following episode. I had to be extra careful and more creative with building the plot.”Perhaps best known for his role as the rich, aloof father in Bong Joon-hoas neuroscientist Lee Se-won, who is desperately trying to unravel the secrets behind a series of horrific family tragedies.
