Scott Moe would rather appeal to his base than reach out with new initiatives and it’s very clear that First Nations and Metis concerns are not a part of this priority.

During the years of the Blakeney government, we developed a two-tiered process. Tier 1 was the elected leaders including the FSIN executive and the provincial cabinet members. Tier 2 was the technical people from both sides. Using this process, we were able to solve issues and create new policy. The gas tax rebate was established this way, which was further developed to recognize First Nations taxation powers.
