The president and the Minneapolis mayor have been embroiled in a Twitter spat ahead of the rally being held in the city on Thursday.
It is this spat, combined with the estimated bill that Trump supporters view as the president being penalized by the Democrat mayor, that drew the small crowd to Frey's offices on Wednesday. The group chanted Trump's name, as well as chants supporting the police—whom Frey has banned from attending the rally in uniform.
Frey had previously mentioned the cost of policing for Trump rally when the pair entered into a Twitter spat this week, while Trump lashed out at the police uniform ban.
