Dr Gabor Mate candidly admitted to having 'regrets' after his interview in March with the Duke of Sussex
A doctor, who specialises in trauma and mental health, says he 'regrets' doing an interview with Prince Harry. Dr Gabor Mate stated he should have 'listened to his gut' beforehand, due to all the "demeaning, dismissive" backlash he faced afterwards, which caused him to "lose himself."
The theme of the interview was "loving with loss and the importance of personal healing". As well as Harry's trauma from losing his mother, the two discussed also discussed Harry's new book and his journey of healing. Besides the backlash, the doctor said he was unsure initially about doing the interview because of the viewing fee. He said: "I had a gut feeling all along that I shouldn't agree to doing it the way they set it up because because the way it was set up is in order to watch it people have to buy a copy of Harry's book. I thought this is not fair, four million people have already bought the book.
He continued: "The result was that I agreed to something that I didn't really like not that I didn't like the idea of talking with him. I didn't like the idea of putting this behind the pay wall, so I lost myself just in agreeing to it."
