Doctor’s warning against eating food left out at room temperature after 20-year-old dies
A DOCTOR has issued a stark warning against leaving cooked rice and pasta at room temperature after a 20-year-old died from Fried Rice Syndrome.student reportedly left his dinner unrefrigerated at room temperature for several days, and died a matter of hours after reheating and consuming it.“This is a condition in which you can have bacterial overgrowth if pasta or rice is left at room temperature for too long,” Dr Joe said.
The longer the cooked rice or pasta is left out, the higher the chances of bacterial growth or toxin production.says that if you eat rice that contains bacillus cereus bacteria, you may be sick and experience vomiting between 30 minutes to 6 hours after, or diarrhoea 6 to 15 hours afterward consuming it.“Yes, you can get food poisoning from eating reheated rice,” NHS officers affirmed.
“It's not the reheating that causes the problem, but the way the rice has been stored before it's reheated. “Uncooked rice can contain spores of Bacillus cereus, bacteria that can cause food poisoning. The spores can survive when rice is cooked.WATER SHOCK
