PHOENIX — This would have been a perfect World Series for Joe Garagiola . The opener ended with a home run. The second game featured 13 singles by the winning team. Power ball and small ball and everything in between, ideal for a raconteur with a ballplayer’s heart and a showman’s style. Mostly, though, Garagiola would have loved this World Series because his favorite team, the , pulled even with the on Saturday.
