The president of the Newark Teachers Union said the temperature in one classroom topped 90 degrees on Tuesday.
, 7th grader Joseph Albuquerque said it had been too hot inside his classroom to concentrate.
“We’ve reached out to the board members. We’ve reached out to the superintendent. We’ve reached out to the mayor,” all to no avail, said Union President John Abeigon. “We posted to our members that, if their health conditions are such, to use their sick days.”
