The building has been made safe from any falling debris and no one was hurt, the fire service says.
Firefighters put a cordon in place to remove a large piece of lead that was hanging from the roof of a building in Derby city centre.
The crew also removed two dislodged corner stones along with debris that had fallen onto the pavement between The Eye Gallery and Carnivore Steakhouse, in Sadler Gate, on Tuesday afternoon. The fire service said the building had been made safe from any further falling debris and no-one had been hurt. BBC Radio Derby said it was thought lead from the roof had been stolen overnight and the stones had became dislodged as a result.A large piece of lead that was hanging from the roof of a building was removed
