Denver weather: Get ready for a spring snowstorm on Friday and Saturday cowx
Starting Friday afternoon, storms rolling across western Colorado will bring five inches or more of snow in the mountains and up to two inches may fall overnight and Saturday in metro Denver and along Colorado’s Front Range, quickly turning to slush, according to the National Weather Service.
Denver residents likely will face partly sunny skies with a high temperature near 55 degrees Friday before winds intensify in the afternoon, weather service forecasters said. On Saturday, any snow and rain likely will fall before 5 p.m., forecasters said, with a high temperature of 45 degrees Saturday under cloudy skies.A weather service winter weather advisory Friday morning warned of wind gusting at speeds up to 50 miles per hour above timberline in the mountains.
East of Denver on the high plains, less than an inch of snow was expected and accumulations along the Interstate 25 transportation corridor generally will stay under two inches, weather service forecasters said. Critical fire weather conditions expected over the San Luis Valley and the southern I-25 corridor from 11am to 8pm today. A cold front is expected to pass over the plains tomorrow, light snow is expected with the main hazards being wet roads and lower visibility
