Denverites will get a break from the rain this week. So get out the sunblock and be ready for heat. COwx
Although the lack of rain and storms forecast for the first half of the week may be a welcome reprieve, the downside is northeast and north central Colorado’s dry conditions through Sunday night are expected to be “near critical fire weather conditions across higher elevations,” according to the National Weather Service.
Warm and dry weather is predicted to continue through Wednesday, with daily afternoon storms likely across the northeastern plains. Denver is forecast to receive rain Wednesday night and again each day through Saturday.through 4 p.m. Sunday, with concentrations expected to get to “unhealthy for sensitive groups” — the highest in the southern and western portions of the Denver metro. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment asks residents to limit driving gas or diesel vehicles.
