The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle traffic crash involving a Denver police officer.
The crash happened at about 8:20 p.m. Thursday near West Hampden Avenue and South Kendall Street, said Master Trooper Gary Cutler of the CSP.
The officer, driving a marked patrol car with a suspect in the back seat, apparently drifted into the oncoming lane and collided with a Honda CRV, Cutler said. The officer, the suspect in his custody, and the driver of the Honda were all taken to a local hospital. All three are expected to survive, Cutler said.
Denver police on Friday did not say why the suspect was in custody, and the officer was not identified by the department.
