Chicago native Minyon Moore, who advised Biden on nominating the first Black woman to the Supreme Court, has been named as the convention chair by the Democrats.

Other members of the convention team are also closely aligned with Biden, the expected Democratic nominee. In a statement to POLITICO, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison said the convention team brings “unmatched” experience and expertise to the event. In a separate statement, Moore said she is “thrilled” to serve as convention chair “in my hometown of Chicago, Ill. I am grateful to the team members who have already been working hard, and know that through their work, and the strong team we continue to build, that this convention will be a success. I can’t wait to showcase all that Chicago and the Democratic Party have to offer as we celebrate the renomination of President Biden and Vice President Harris next year.
