During a message to new graduates during YouTube Originals’ “Dear Class of 2020” live stream on Sunday , Demi Lovato confirmed that all the students watching were currently at a crossroads. “It’s nerve-wracking and anxiety-inducing, right?” she asked. But when Lovato hammered home on the common theme of her speech: perseverance.
“It’s easier to remember our failures and when we gave up,” Lovato said, “but you have to ask yourself: what were the moments where you kept fighting through the struggle and then you succeed?” Lovato concluded with a simple message: “To the class of 2020: I’m rooting for you, I’m celebrating you, and congratulations.” Along with the “I’m Ready” singer, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Billie Eilish and more of music’s A-list shared words of wisdom during the commencement live stream.
