The Harry Potter author, who has been outspoken on trans issues, says she 'can afford' the blow back and she is willing to take it to stand up for women's rights.
The Harry Potter author said she wants 'trans people to be safe' during the talkJK Rowling says she is happy to 'take the hit' that comes with speaking out on trans issues after a women's rights conference she attended was picketed by gender activists.
The author, who is worth an estimated £875million according to the Sunday Times Rich List, has repeatedly called for women-only spaces to be reserved for biological women alone. One male activist who led the abusive chants towards attendees, many of whom were older women, was branded a 'p****' by the author online afterwards.

Another Glasgow Scottish Green councillor, Holly Bruce, 29, also joined the protest and criticised 'politically induced moral panic'.
