My job is just not interesting to me anymore and I listen to things on my computer to keep me going.
It’s wrong and sometimes I get behind on my work. Sometimes I get it done too soon before the team is ready.
I have a little over a year on this job before I go to another project. That’s why I don’t want to leave and find another job. But what do I do for the next year to keep me focus and going?It seems like you’ve been doing the same job for a while, and it has gotten a little mundane. Without much variety, this can happen. You’re working too fast to get it out of the way and it may be done inappropriately. On the other hand, you can get behind.
Challenge yourself. What are some creative ways you can complete your tasks? Apparently, you have the routine down. Now it’s time to find a way to switch it up. Instead of saying that this is just the way it is, create a way it can be different. Schedule your day. Instead of rushing through or watching something that delays you, make a schedule. You can include things like taking your break with a word find. In other words, do something stimulating for the brain.
Help others. Some coworkers may not have the same distracting situation as you and could use support. Be that support and be willing to take on other responsibilities. Time to step out of your comfort zone and actually take action.
