Jaden Hagen, a tow truck driver, was at the Spanish Fork Airport on a call when the incident unfolded before his eyes.
Dashcam footage obtained from Hagen's vehicle revealed the moments before the plane crash-landed at the airport. "I ran out of the way, and it flew over my head just past the building that I was up against," Hagen said."I did," Hagen said. "Yeah, it was pretty quite scary."Both the pilot and passenger emerged from the incident unscathed. Medical teams assessed them and confirmed their lack of injuries.
Nick Porter, a spokesman for the city of Spanish Fork, expressed gratitude for the swift response of the first responders and the assistance provided by the Federal Aviation Administration during the investigation. The incident resulted in damage to a hangar roof, and repairs will be necessary."It is still weird to think about, and I still kind of reflect back on, man, there could be a different outcome," he said.
Despite the close call, Hagen expressed his gratitude for the support and assistance provided to the individuals involved.2News confirmed the crash did not involve any of the flight schools operating at the airport. The airport remains open, and investigations into the cause of the incident are ongoing.
