Rainbow Nursery has been described as 'unsatisfactory' by the Care Inspectorate following an unplanned visit last month. The Paisley service has been handed a list of improvements to make.
A Paisley nursery has received a damning inspection report just months after staff failed to notice a child climbing through a window and wandering off.
Their report outlined that "staff and resources were not managed effectively to meet children's needs" and "management and staff lacked understanding of their responsibilities to keep children safe". It was found that risk assessments for children's outings didn't ensure the health, safety, and welfare of children. Two members of staff were deployed to the local park with 14 children "without consideration of managing children's personal care needs or how they would manage an emergency situation".
During the visit, inspectors "had to take action to minimise risks to children". The younger children had access to some outdoor space, however, their garden area required to be cleared of unwanted items to allow children to have fun in an area that is safe and fit for purpose. "A lack of leadership, and oversight by the provider, meant that there were no clear lines of accountability, and this had a negative effect on outcomes for children and families."
