The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning Sunday evening for Dallas County.
The thunderstorm warning, which took effect at 5:49 p.m., is lasted through 6:30 p.m. The hazards of the warning included 60 mph winds and quarter to half-dollar-sized hail, according to the weather service.Matt Stalley, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, said as of 6:40 p.m., the most intense precipitation is likely out of the area.
“The main severe thunderstorm threats have passed on to the east now,” Stalley said. “We do still have a concern for flooding over the next few hours, at least as heavy rain continues.”Several counties in North Texas, including Dallas and Tarrant Counties, are also under a severe thunderstorm watch until 8 p.m. tonight.Stalley said some parts of Dallas will see 2-3 inches of rain this evening.
