Dallas is one of the nation’s three doughnut capitals, recognized for both its density and diversity of doughnut shops, according to the Washington Post.
gave a shout-out to Hypnotic, which bills itself as Dallas’ first and best craft donut shop. It sells doughnuts like the Canadian Healthcare, a long john with maple icing, topped with a strip of bacon for $3.50, and the Jenny’s Evil Elvis, a yeast-raised doughnut topped with peanut butter, bacon, banana and honey for $4.crowned two other capitals: Providence, R.I., for doughnut density and Salt Lake City for diversity.
To analyze doughnut density and diversity, the newspaper turned to Yelp, which shared all the doughnut shop listings on the review site. It then grouped stores with the same name and calculated the most common doughnut shop in groups of census tracts around the country.
