Dallas County reported 42 more COVID-19 deaths and 2,935 new coronavirus cases in the past week, about 400 fewer cases than were reported in the previous seven-day period.align with updated guidance from federal health officials
“New strains will come and we will have to use all the tools in our toolbox to fight against those waves,” Jenkins said. “In order to be best prepared for whatever COVID throws at us next, get vaccinated if you’ve not already been vaccinated and get boosted.” Of the new cases, 2,007 were confirmed and 764 were probable. The numbers bring the county’s case total to 558,216, including 453,414 confirmed and 104,802 probable. The death toll is 5,628.
The average number of new daily cases in the county for the last two weeks is 190. For the previous 14-day period, the average was 546.According to the state, 780,362 people in Collin County have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, while 687,442 — 71.4% of the county’s population 5 and older — are fully vaccinated.Denton County reported two deaths and 1,151 cases in the past week. In the previous seven-day period, 1,657 cases were reported.
