A West Dallas church known as a pillar in the Native American community has been deemed a total loss after a fire Wednesday quickly ripped through the 60-year-old building.
“I saw the smoke coming from south Dallas,” said Pastor Patrick Osage.
"It's hard, especially because of the history of the church, how long it's been here, you know, 60 years of American Indian community gathering here, praising God,” he said. “The building is just a building. The church is the people who gather here to praise God, fellowship together and help each other out in times of need,” said Osage.
