at the Hunt Farm in Orange, MA, a family business that has survived despite strong headwinds that have wiped out other dairies in New England, on Feb. 21, 2020. The farm has really focused on diversification to weather some of the recent challenges facing the industry. They started a corn maze in 2018 to drum up some extra profits and to more importantly reconnect people with their agricultural roots. They also house several solar arrays.
“There’s no way to offset how much loss we’re seeing with school closings and food-service demand in the form of cheese and butter, just because someone’s buying an extra gallon of milk,” one dairy supplier
