BREAKING: CVS says it has reached a proposed $5 billion deal that would make it first pharmacy chain to settle opioid lawsuits across the United States.
In the lawsuits, governments said pharmacies were filling prescriptions that they should have flagged as inappropriate.
The proposed settlement brings a nationwide tally of finalized and completed settlements between companies and governments to more than. Under terms of the deals, most of the money must be used to address the continuing epidemic.
