Gig Workers Collective organized a strike on March 30 for workers at U.S. online grocery delivery service Instacart. They protested working conditions and demanded hazard pay amid the coronavirus outbreak. Instacart said the safety of its entire community is its first priority and the action didn’t disrupt service.

Amazon said it fired a worker who led the protest for violating terms of his employment, including leaving paid quarantine to participate in the work stoppage. On April 10, Amazon fired two design employees who complained about conditions at the warehouses, the Washington Post reported on April 14.
