A week after their facile win over Clan na Gael in the Armagh decider, the Crossmaglen management were in Omagh to watch Trillick's thrilling extra-time win over Errigal Ciaran
The timings worked out perfectly for Crossmaglen and manager Anthony Cunningham was a keen observer at last month’s Tyrone SFC final between Trillick and Errigal Ciaran.
They’ll now welcome Cross to the Omagh venue this Saturday night for an eagerly-anticipated Tyrone versus Armagh battle in the Ulster Club series. Rangers secured back-to-back Armagh titles a week earlier with an empathic 12-point win over Clan na Gael. Nevertheless, Cunningham came away from Omagh impressed by what he witnessed from Trillick and feels his side are in for a much tougher test this weekend.
“They really smothered Errigal, they got their major and probably sat back a wee bit when they got that goal.“There were three or four players for Trillick who really performed well - Seanie O’Donnell, Richie Donnelly, Lee Brennan, Rory Brennan. We’ve a bit of homework to do on them.”
