Parsons found some time to watch other teams take the field in Week 7 of the regular season. Myles Garrett’s performance in Cleveland’s win over Indianapolis captured Parsons’ attention. Against the Colts, Garrett recorded nine total tackles, sacked Gardner Minshew twice and forced two fumbles. Parsons was so impressed that he mentioned working with Garrett over the 2024 offseason.
“I do believe he’s a Defensive Player of the Year front-runner,” Parsons said. “I always will say that defensive guys should be in MVP conversations. I hate that defensive guys aren’t in MVP conversations because where are championships really won? Championships are really won on defense, I don’t care how many points you put up because you look at the Chiefs and you look at the Eagles. They both put up 40+ points, but it mattered who got the last stop.
