By Brown’s estimate, 75% of Charlie’s regulars tested positive for COVID-19 in the last few weeks. This high infection rate slowed down business even more than usual during the holidays, and she has heard similar stories from employees at other bars and restaurants., a neighborhood restaurant and bar in Lakewood, business hasn’t slowed down.
With 10 employees testing positive in the past month, the two restaurants at the Drey Hotel at The Village Dallas, Anise and La Mina, have been understaffed.junior sous chef Kuma Newton only suffered mild ailments. But long-haul COVID-19 kept him at home until this week, after he finally tested negative on New Year’s Day.
“I was vaccinated and tested negative,” said Aguilar. “But I came into work on the day after Christmas and three more people were confirmed positive. The cook I was working with didn’t look so hot and he was coughing. I tested again the next day and it was positive. I’ve been quarantined ever since.”
