Bereaved family members have gathered to remember their loved ones who died during the Covid pandemic.

Events are taking place across the UK on Sunday to remember lives lost as part of a national day of reflection.A minute's silence was then held in the city's Peace Flame Garden. "Not being able to see them - everyone in life wants to be with their family as they pass away," he said. "And they also want to be at home. And for us, for Mum and Dad - they were denied that."
She recalled how her dad, who suffered from cancer, died without family members present when he was admitted to hospital in December 2020 after contracting Covid.She said she was at Sunday's event "to bring comfort, compassion and solidarity to other families that have faced the same losses as ourselves".
