COVID-19 cases in Ohio have been rising since early July
in Ohio rose yet again, from 4,226 last week to 5,361 this week, marking the seventh consectutive week of rising cases.
The number of cases reported weekly has been going up since there were just 1,286 new cases reported on July 6. The 5,361 cases reported Thursday marked the first time cases have been over 5,000 since mid-April.this year were as low as 1,228 on June 15. While Ohio’s weekly case numbers are trending upward, they are nowhere near this year’s peak of 13,895, reported on Jan. 5.The total COVID-19 case count since early 2020 has now reached 3,478,624.
A total of 7,597,664 Ohioans have received at least one vaccination, representing about 68.4% of Ohioans age 5 and up.
