The local authority failed to close the floodgates sooner leaving a number of neighbouring homes vulnerable
Perth and Kinross Council will launch an in-depth review of its flood response measures following a barrage of criticism over the delay to close the North Inch floodgates.
However, the floodgates on the North Inch in Perth were not closed until around 5pm on Sunday, October 8, much later that the ones on the South Inch. Numerous angered residents have contacted councillors and the council asking why the North Inch floodgates were not closed much sooner.Councillor John Duff, Leader of the Scottish Conservative Group at the council, met with PKC chief executive Thomas Glen and PKC executive director for communities Barbara Renton on Monday.
