The Prosper warehouse club and fuel pumps will cost more than $20 million to build, according to state documents. Construction is expected to start in March 2024, and the store could be completed by late October.

Issaquah, Wash.-based Costco is building 24 warehouse clubs, including 14 in the U.S., during its fiscal year that ends in August. One of the U.S. locations is in Kyle, south of Austin. Costco and Sam’s Club, which is owned by Walmart, each operate about 600 stores in the U.S. and both are profitable. Costco clubs typically post higher sales per store than Sam’s Club.
