The change applied to the chain’s sausage bap Fans of Costa’s breakfast menu will notice something different about the chain’s sausage bap next time they order. Despite costing the same amount, the roll now contains three sausages instead of four, in a move that’s been described as ‘cheap’ by fans online. When X user Paul Hayday queried the change, the brand reasoned it was to make the bap easier for customers to eat without mess.
’ Costa Coffee then told LADbible: ‘We changed our sausage bap recipe following feedback from our store teams re: operational challenges during the cooking process – the fourth sausage was falling out the bap. ‘We’ve moved from 4 smaller sausages, replacing it with 3 bigger sausages to fit the bap neatly for a more even cook and enjoyable experience. ‘This has resulted in a small change in the weight of the overall bap, under 5g.
