'We were excited... then we started thinking'
The couple described the exciting news as 'bittersweet' after confessing they were expecting twins before they lost one of their babies to 'Vanishing Twin Syndrome.' The Coronation Street actor and his yoga teacher wife have a three-year-old son Sonny and 18-month-old daughter Daisy.
The news of the pregnancy comes after Briony and Sam had two tragic miscarriages within four months of each other. And while being pregnant is wonderful news for the pair, However, the pair still share a sense of loss, reports the Manchester Evening News. “If we hadn’t had the early scan, I wouldn’t even have known,” she adds. “But it does explain why I was so sick and tired this time around compared to my other pregnancies." Meanwhile, Sam, famed for playing Corrie's Chesney Brown, was "shocked" to learn that they’d been expecting twins.
After an anxious few weeks’ wait, Briony had a 12-week scan ahead of sharing their baby news with OK! and thankfully the surviving baby appears healthy. And they also know the gender.
