A Coronation Street icon has shared her heartbreak over missing Lancashire teenager Jay Slater as she revealed her connection to the 19-year-old.
The apprentice bricklayer was in the Canary Islands for a music festival and was seen in a Snapchat clip laughing and smiling the night before he vanished. He was wearing a grey sports top with a light green strip on the shoulders and a black bag and mysteriously disappeared after a night out with new friends.Sharing a missing poster online, Vicky wrote: "My God Mother’s Grandson has gone missing. His Mother has flown out 7pm. To join the police search. Hope to God they find him.
Another wrote: "We are in Tenerife if we can help in any way let us know." A third said: "I've been following this for hours. I hope they find him safe Vicky. Some women on Facebook are looking at the live webcam of the area he was last tracked to & they have been posting photos of certain things etc so hoping they can help. My heart goes out to his family x"
Jay, an apprentice bricklayer at Accrington and Rossendale College, was last heard from on Monday morning when he called a friend at 8am, stating that he was lost, thirsty, and his phone battery was down to 1 per cent. Since that call, Jay's phone has run out of power.
