Coronation Street has confirmed what we definitely won't see from Peter Barlow ahead of his exit from Weatherfield. Actor Chris Gascoyne briefly revealed in July that he will be leaving the role after becoming the seventh actor to play Ken Barlow's son in 2000.

Iain confirmed: "We won't see that. We thought it was important as a transplant recipient he didn't drink again because we were worried about the messaging around that but it doesn't mean he won't profoundly struggle physiologically with his demons which will start to impact on his level of happiness in Coronation Street.
